A striking void harrows in the streets of the Piazza area mirroring the empty former grounds of the Arada building. The area has a host of new projects, including the flagship Adwa Zero Km museum, which was slated for inauguration last month. Addis Abeba's aesthetic landscape has transformed significantly over the past few years as mega projects of astronomical proportions are availed. While Addis Tomorrow economic zone, which sits on 35hct around the Gotera area, has yet to break ground, the satellite city on the Yeka Mountains, closely guarded by the Prime Minister, has already transformed the area behind Shola Gebeya. A contrasting set of opinions on the changing skyline has been formed with some nostalgic for the capital's rustic look while others fawn for the metropolitan sleek looks.
