Car rams into a light railway system track around Debre Zeit road early last week. The 17Km light railway was built with a loan of 475 million dollars from the Chinese Exim Bank. China has been supporting large-scale infrastructure projects in Africa for the better part of 70 years. The Maputo bridge in Mozambique built for 680 million dollars has been called the bridge to nowhere by citizens of the country. The "Beautifying Sheger" initiative spearheaded by the Prime Minister is also being constructed by a 250 million dollar loan from the Chinese government.
