Chickens are in high demand during holidays in Ethiopia, especially for making the popular dish, Doro Wot, a kind of chicken stew. But the enthusiasm shown for their meat is not extended to the live chickens, with their handling often being abysmal, both from the perspective of hygiene and physical harm. Here, several of them are hung upside down and fastened to the moving minibus by their legs.
