Heineken Ethiopia handed over seven renovated housing blocks to residents living in Lideta District earlier last week. The houses, which were in poor condition, cost 8.4 million Br to renovate. Over the past years the Foundation, which had been involved in water, sanitation, health and entrepreneurship improvement projects, has worked with hospitals and maternal and childcare centres in Addis Abeba, Bedele and Bahir Dar. The Brewery works with 50,000 farmers located in Arsi, Bale and other parts of the country. It has been in the market since 2014 with brands like Walia, Walia Radler, Harar, Bedele, Bedele Special, Sofi Malt and Buckler. It recently rebranded Walia Beer, its mainstream lager brand, as 100pc pure malt.
