The former podium that was used for many public events in Meskel Square now is turned into a green balcony with various plants growing in cases. The initiative is primed for funding worth billions, with a bill proposing the establishment of a special fund, presented to parliament. If approved the fund is expected to provide sustainable domestic financing for green legacy initiatives and the restoration of degraded land.
