Commodity exports generated 1.64 billion dollars in the first eight months of the current fiscal year, according to data from the Ministry of Trade & Industry. The value has shown a 9.5pc decline from 1.81 billion dollars, as compared with the same period in last fiscal year. The performance is also 38.98pc lower than the target of 2.6 billion dollars. The revenue was generated from the export of agricultural, manufacturing and mining products. While the performance of most of commodities went down, export of khat and tantalum performed well in the reporting period.
