Ethiopian Airlines has announced a 15 million dollar project in partnership with international aeroplane manufacturer Boeing to produce aircraft parts at Qilinto Industrial Park. Aircraft thermo-acoustic insulation blankets and electrical wire harnesses are slated for production at the four-hectare plot in the park while expected to employ around 300 people. The airline has boasted revenues of 6.1 billion dollars as of June, an increase of 20pc from the same time last year. In the ended year, it introduced seven new international destinations, including Copenhagen, Atlanta, and Karachi. The project was announced last week after the airlines signed an agreement with the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) and Industrial Park Development Corporation (IPDC).
