Ethiopia plans to generate close to four billion dollars from the export of agricultural and manufacturing commodities during the current fiscal year. The Ministry of Trade & Industry announced a plan to export 2.9 billion dollars worth of agricultural commodities and 587.5 million dollars of manufacturing products this year. The Ministry intends to boost the revenues from the two sectors by increasing the yield and quality of agricultural products and by expanding the export destinations of the commodities. During the recently ended fiscal year, the export of commodities generated 3.1 billion dollars, of which 2.3 billion dollars and 405 million dollars were generated from the export of agricultural and manufacturing commodities, respectively.
