An elaborate ceremony marking the formation of the new government has kicked off in Addis Abeba's Mesqel Square.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) and President Sahle-Work Zewde are among the senior government officials in attendance.
Muhammadu Buhari, president of Nigeria, Salva Kiir, president of South Sudan, and Ismail Omar Guelleh, president of Djibouti, are among the foreign dignitaries attending the event.
