The Addis Abeba City Administration Revenues Bureau collected over 5.8 billion Br over the first month of the new fiscal year, which started on July 8, 2021. The amount exceeds the target by eight percent and has shown an increase of close to 1.1 billion Br, nearly a quarter, in comparison to the same period last year. The City Administration collected over 42.6 billion Br last year, the highest in nearly a decade. Currently, there are almost 420,000 businesses registered as taxpayers in the capital, of which 300,000 of them are lower-bracket taxpayers, making up the vast majority.
