City Administration Embarks on Interconnecting Public Offices

Over 44 bureaus from 58 sectors under the Addis Abeba City Administration are set to be inter-connected through a main data centre in the next four months. The networking system is launched with a 280 million Br budget, to link service-providing institutions, following the agreement signed between Ethiotelecom and the City Administration Technology & Innovation Development Bureau. Officials believe the project is set to increase the connection speed up to 100 GB through high-bandwidth optical services. According to Frehiwot Tamiru, Chief Executive Officer of the telecom, establishing networked institutions for the city is a necessity to ensure quality services and enhance performance efficiency.
