CBE Generates 58b Br in Half-Year Revenues

The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) generated 58 billion Br in revenues over the first half of the financial year, according to the Ministry of Finance. The Ministry conducted a half-year assessment with the executives of the state-owned giant last week. The Bank managed to generate 1.2 billion dollars in revenues over the reporting period. Its deposits have surpassed 823 billion Br, a 21pc growth from last year. The figure represents over half of the 1.5 trillion Br in aggregate deposits mobilised by the banking industry. Last month, the CBE inaugurated its 48-storey headquarters in Addis Abeba, built at a cost of 303 million dollars.
