The National Election Board of Ethiopia announced that voting for regional council seats has not been conducted in six polling stations in Dire Dawa City Administration. The stations were not provided with ballot papers for regional council constituencies, according to Soliana Shimelis, communications advisor of the Board, explaining why there has been no election in these stations. "The Board is investigating why only these stations experienced such a problem," she said. Conducting an election will not have an impact on the results, she said, as there is no opposition party running for regional constituencies in the city. About 177,519 people were registered to vote in Dire Dawa.
