Benshangul Kicks off Water Project for 85m Br

Benishangul Gumuz Regional State kicked off a potable water project that will benefit 30,000 people with a 85 million Br investment. The Benshangul Gumuz Water & Sewerage Authority laid the foundation stone of the project on August 15, 2019, in Metekel Zone’s Gilgil Beles town. The funding was sourced from the Ministry of Peace and the Sustainable Development Goal budget to supply safe drinking water in Gilgel Beles for the next 15 years. The source of the water will be deep water wells, from which 22lt of water can be pumped a minute. The project is expected to be operational in a year. The project will include water reservoirs and a water line.
