These impressive birds find a plentiful food source in the area's extensive butcheries with increased slaughters during holidays providing a windfall. Vultures play a crucial role in the ecosystem, acting as nature's sanitation crew. While they primarily scavenge on carrion, they can also hunt small animals. Their strong stomachs can handle diseases that would be deadly to other creatures, but they avoid carcasses older than a few days. The lack of a syrinx makes them predominantly silent capable of only hissing, growling or snarling.
