The Office of the Attorney General has fined 147 lawyers, who were allegedly practicing law unethically. The office had been investigating 175 files in the past six months, according to Fekadu Demisse, director general of prosecutors and pro bono legal services. Out of the cases under investigation, the office revoked the licenses of five lawyers for adverse conduct. Additional it has imposed a monetary fine on 77 lawyers that failed to renew licenses on time. The Office also suspended 54 lawyers due to failure to renew licences, while seven more were subjected to a fine for disciplinary offence and four passed with a warning.
