A cornerstone was laid to build a specialised cardiac care centre at Black Lion Hospital for 40 million euros. Expected to take two years to complete, the project is financed by the Dutch and Ethiopian governments. Aside from providing service for local patients, it will play a significant role in medical tourism, according to Birhanu Nega (MD), consultancy and project organiser of the Centre. In addition to the centre, the government plans to equip Black Lion Hospital with x-ray and surgery systems, said Amir Aman (MD), minister of Health, during the ceremony that was attended by Netherlands Ambassador to Ethiopia Bengt Van Loosdrecht.
