The Addis Abeba City Transport Authority has deployed 120 new buses to ease the city’s shortage of transportation. Out of the total buses, the Authority designated 20 of them that can carry 35 passengers for the Megenaga, Piassa and Mexico routes under special conditions. These buses will provide service during rush hours on the selected routes, which have considerable transport problems. The rest of the buses will provide service in selected areas where there are no buses, according to Bedlu Lelisa, deputy director of the Authority.
