Addis Abeba University (AAU), the country's oldest university, has allocated 10 million Br for researching the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
A team that will be conducting the research was formed and took one million Birr to embark on the assessment. The team is composed of university professors and scholars from various colleges and institutions.
The team, which is expected to come up with valuable contributions to the fight against COVID-19, held its first meeting on March 26, 2020.
The remaining funds will be allocated for University staff and distributed based on the results of a competitive process.
Ethiopia confirmed four additional cases of the Coronavirus on March 27, 2020, bringing the total number to 16.
