KECH, a roadside emergency firm, has launched a service that provides fuel delivery, battery jump starts, and flat tire changing for vehicles that breakdown on roadsides. The company also provides roadside tire repair, battery repair, unlocking vehicles and towing services. The services have already started with 10 motorbikes and two tow trucks. It provides service in the capital and places within a 10Km radius of Addis Abeba. The founders invested three million Birr in the application process and to buy the motorcycles and the tow trucks, according to Wasiyhun Getachew, operations manager of the company, which is hiring 10 employees. The owners plan to increase this number to more than 200 as the business develops. The services are provided through packages and on a membership basis. Once customers install the application, they can access the services. Additionally, drivers can use the call code 6205 for assistance.
