Agency Finds 935 Unqualified Schools

Out of the inspected public and private schools in the capital, 935 schools were found failing to meet the required standard, according to the City Education Relevance & Quality Agency. Between 2016 to 2018, the Agency inspected 1,939 schools in the capital. Out of these, only 35pc of schools met the required standard, while 65pc were below standard. To date, 2,083 schools have been inspected including pre-K, primary and secondary schools, according to the Agency. The country has 50 state universities and 38 teachers education colleges that provide a three-year diploma through regular, summer and extension programmes. For this fiscal year, the country allocated 50.6 billion Br, 13pc of its total budget, to education.
