They were launching Ethiosat - "the first-ever dedicated Ethiopian TV platform to host Ethiopia's most popular channels," according to the company's press release. It is an effort to consolidate all Ethiopian TV channels and broadcast them from one orbital position on SES's satellite. SES is one of the largest satellite operators in the world with over 70 satellites.
