Oromia State Launches 210m Br Water Project

The Oromia Region, Water & Sewerage Authority has invested 210 million Br for a water project in Fiche town. The project will supply clean water to 180,000 people in Fiche, Semien Showa Zone of the Oromia Regional State. The source of the water will be eight 200m deep water-wells from which 80lt of water can be pumped a second. It will be operational in seven years. The project will include three water reservoirs with a carrying capacity of 3.2 million litres and two pumping stations. Access to water supply in the Oromia Regional State stood at 64pc by the last fiscal year, according to the Ministry of Water, Irrigation & Electricity.
