M-Pesa, Dashen Bank, CashGo Team Up for Remittances

M-PESA Safaricom has partnered with Dashen Bank and CashGo to launch a new international remittance service, enabling Ethiopians to receive money directly into their M-PESA mobile wallets. Dashen Bank will act as the exclusive settlement and acquiring bank, processing transactions received via CashGo which will provide the digital platform for the transfer of funds. M-PESA Safaricom will allow customers to access their funds instantly through their mobile money accounts. Dashen Bank, who recently launched a new mobile banking app, has also recently partnered with EagleLion System Technology and Mastercard to launch "GetFee - Pay By Link," a new online payment service. EagleLion is also the developer behind CashGo. Dashen Bank reported a net profit of 4.88 billion Br for the last fiscal year, marking a substantial 37pc increase and building on the prior year's growth of 22.8pc. Launched in Kenya by Safaricom in 2007, M-Pesa is a mobile money service which entered the Ethiopian market by securing a license in May 2023.
