Capital Hosts International Oilseed, Pulse Conference

Oilseed and pulse exporters from more than 20 countries gathered in one room at the 12th Oilseed International Conference held in the capital for two days at Sky-light Hotel, organized by the Ministry of Trade & Regional Integration (MOTRI) in cooperation with the Ethiopian Pulses, Oil Seeds and Spice Processors Exporters Association(EPOSPEO). The conference was attended by Minister Gebremesqel Chala from MOTRI, who awarded the top oilseed and pulse exporters in the country. Three oilseed exporters, Abat Group, Alliance Business Group, and Belayneh Kinde received their rewards from Gebremesqel with the top exporter shipping up to 8,094 tons of oilseeds to international 15 million dollars in revenues. Three pulse exporters, MSA Trading, Abraham Abebe Trading, and Edao International Trading, also received awards for managing to send 30 million, 22.75 million and 13 million dollars worth of pulses to international markets Geberemeskel indicated the country serves as a sustainable ecological source for the production of commodities while emphasizing that concerted efforts from the government will be undertaken to enhance the sector's potential.
