EagleLion Rolls Out Cashless Transactions

A local tech company is working on easing the payment process by providing loans, hotel bookings and payments at gas stations through digital technologies. EagleLion System Technology is developing apps with the monikers Get Fee, Get Rooms and Nedaj. The company was incorporated two years ago with 15 million Br capital. Besufekad Getachew, CEO of Eaglelion, expressed the company's ambition to expand its fin-tech business, stating that only 350,000 people are borrowers from the banking sector. The company has the DUBE Ale app, which provides digital credit services for locals. The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MasterCard to partner on technical advisory and financial services. Signing the agreement to work with MasterCard, an international payment-making solution service provider, is an improvement since nearly 85pc of the retail transaction is made through cash, says Besufekad. During the signing ceremony at Sky Light Hotel on Africa Avenue (Bole Road), he disclosed that the company works with the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) and the Dashen Bank.
