Traffic Accident Deaths Peak on Fridays, Report Reveals

Traffic accident deaths are up to 40pc more likely to occur on a Friday, according to a report released by the Addis Abeba City Administration. The report, published in collaboration with Bloomberg Philanthropies, also illustrates that 87pc of the 400 people who lost their lives to car accidents in the capital last year were male, while the highest number of fatal car crashes were recorded in April. In addition, 83pc of casualties were pedestrians while drivers accounted for seven percent of deaths. Traffic accident deaths have declined 13pc compared to the previous year while injuries have risen by over 40pc.
