IOHK, Ethiopia Partner to Revamp Education System

Input-Output Hong Kong (IOHK) has partnered with the Ethiopian government for the use of blockchain technology in the education sector. The technology is expected to enhance the educational experience of five million students and 750,000 teachers across the country. The new system, which will be used for student and teacher identification, digital grade verification, and the remote monitoring of school performance, is being provided to the Ethiopian government by the research and development arm of IOHK, Cardano. Authorities will be able to create a tamper-proof record of educational performance for five million students across 3,500 schools using IOHK’s Atala PRISM ID, while helping to identify the causes of educational under-achievement through the system.
