The Industrial Employers Confederation and the Ethiopian Employers Confederation have merged into one. The two organisations have established the coalition under the name Ethiopian Employers Confederation. For the past two years, the two confederations, which had been working for a similar purpose in different spectrums, had been devising their unions. The decision to form the combination is vital to building domestic economic capacity and maintaining national interests on an international level, according to the minister of Labor & Social Affairs, Ergogie Tesfaye (PhD). She added that the merger will have paramount importance in safeguarding the rights of employees and maintaining a good relationship between worker associations and the government. The Ethiopian Employers Confederation, the first of its kind, was established in 2018 with five employer federations.
