Lycée Guébré-Mariam Alumni, Mary Joy Donate Food

I Care Ye Lycee Lij, a committee founded by alumni of the Lycée Guébré-Mariam School in collaboration with Mary Joy Ethiopia, has donated its second round of support to 80 vulnerable families impacted by the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) on July 16, 2020. The donation consisted of 10kg of wheat flour, five kilograms of macaroni, three kilograms of rice, three litres of edible oil, along with three pieces of soap and half litres of sanitising alcohol. The beneficiaries are families selected from the Safety Net Programme located in Wereda 1, Arada District, according to Yealemwork Mola, the Wereda's labour and social affairs head. The committee, established to help vulnerable parts of the society who have been affected by COVID-19, fundraises both locally and internationally. The French Embassy has contributed close to 175,000 Br for food and hygiene protection items toward the cause. I Care Ye Lycee Lij also donated sanitising materials for the Ethiopian National Association of the Blind on May 26, 2020.
