Nestle Donates PPE to Frontliners

Nestle Ethiopia has donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to healthcare professionals who are on the front line fighting the pandemic. The donation was handed over to the Ministry of Health on June 11, 2020, is worth close to 350,000 Br, and includes 500 scrubs and 500 rubber boots. The equipment will be distributed to two COVID-19 treatment centres in the country to help contribute to the personal safety and well-being of healthcare workers and physicians combating the virus. Due to the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases across the country, PPE are in high demand and supplies are dwindling in many hospitals.Nestle wanted to help ensure the safety of health workers, according to Wossenyeleh Shiferaw, Nestle Horn of Africa (HoA) Cluster manager. Nestle Ethiopia, established in 2006, serves as the headquarters of Nestle HoA Cluster which oversees market development activities across Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia.
