UNICEF donated 60,000 bars of soap along with educational fliers about the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) to the Ministry of Labor & Social Affairs (MOSLA). The items will be distributed to 30,000 households under the Productive Safety Net Program (PSNP). The soap and fliers are to be delivered door to door to households. The handover ceremony took place at the premises of the Ministry on Friday, March 21, 2020. The Safety Net Program improves food security and nutrition for rural households vulnerable to food insecurity. It gives 215 Br monthly to each beneficiary. UNICEF and the Ministry will continue to work together in aiding the city’s most vulnerable groups to contain the spread of the virus," said Ergogie Tesfaye (PhD), minister of Labour & Social Affairs. “We don't want the most vulnerable groups to fall prey to the virus because of the shortage of sanitary supplies," she said. "We need everyone’s support in containing and overcoming the virus."
